Angus Wu (he/him) - Toronto, ON, Canada
Interested in everything, documenting some of it...
Professional Background
I am currently pursuing my Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, building on my Bachelor's degree from the same institution. My academic focus centers on computer architecture and acceleration.
My research interests lie in computer architecture modelling and hardware-software co-design. The goal is to design more efficient computer hardware based on insights from analyzing resource usage patterns.

Personal Philosophy
Do what fulfills you.
Being kind and helping people is fulfilling, as does learning about and appreciating even the smallest things around you.
I believe technology has tremendous potential to do good. Personally speaking, the internet has connected me with fantastic people around the world, and knowing each of them has transformed me for the better. However the increasing reliance on technology comes with two main unsolved issues I often think about: 1) How as a society can we combat information overload, and 2) in the age of AI, how do we establish trust?
Beyond the technical realm, I'm fascinated by what appeals to my senses and how clever designs leverage psychology and human perception. Having individualized lived experiences and how these memories shape the way we interact with the world is what makes us human. So in understanding why I am the way I am and how different experiences trigger various emotional responses, I believe I am unlocking deeper appreciation of the world. This also allows me to spread such appreciation through thoughtfully designed things. For example, the miscellaneous gadgets I 3D print, sharing my opinion about the impacts of public infrastructure, and creating food recipes that hold sentimental value to me.
Through my personal website, or as I like to call it "my little corner of the internet", I want to share ideas and creations that are personal to me, and to connect with like-minded people who find parts of my life to resonate with them.
With that said, some of the content here on my website contains personal opinion, which I try my best to differentiate from factual sources. Like all ideas we now consider great, they were once unpopular. It is possible that some of what I write could be contrarian to popular beliefs, so I hope you as the reader keep an open mind, and you are free to reach out and share your point of view as well. I am also well aware that anything I put out can be used against me, and I hope people understand that people change and opinions change, and use my work as an opportunity to discuss and not to harm. Views are my own.
